Rafael Uriegas for Great White Larchmont

Rafael Uriegas is a Mexican based painter and muralist. His vibrant and often abstract work draws on the traditions of Latin American art, referencing myths and religion as well as motifs from the natural world.

His recent work uses traditional techniques from fresco painting, combining pigment and wall plaster, to create large scale murals that seem to envelop the viewer in the architectural space. At once earthy yet transcendent, we love his use of colour and form.
